Why APNE didn't get half the publicity of CHAK DE?

I saw Deol parivar's APNE recently.
And I was wondering, while Chak De India got rave reviews as a sports movie, Apne didn't get any mention of the sports angle in it. I liked Apne, though I don't want to term it completely as a sports movie, the element of sports has been handled beautifully. I'm not in favour of boxing as a sports. For me, any game which encourages violence is not in the right spirit. Boxing is a bloody game!
And in Apne, Dharmendra is a erstwhile boxing champion who wins a silver medal at Olympics, but was banned as he tests positive for drugs. The story is about how he expects his sons to erase the malign on his name. While the elder son Sunny disappoints him by abandoning boxing as his career option, Bobby decides to realise dad's dreams by taking up boxing. In the climax, Sunny takes up the challenge and realises dad's dream.
The movie has a fine blend of family values weaved around the sports. Though the movie has some bloody moments, the performances of Deols surprise you. The scenes involving Dharamji and Sunny are the best as we can see the eagerness of Sunny to get close to his Dad, and on the other hand the anger of a father who thinks his son abandoned his dreams.

Overall a nice movie. What shocks me is how Chak De India got a better media coverage as a sports movie, and how Apne was completely ignored. Is it because Yash Raj are well known for their flair for PR ? Is it because Deol family has been straight forward and frank never resorting to media-appeasement? Or may be SRK gets the media more TRP or sales than Deols!
Whatever be the reason, the media has erred in judging a good effort. And it's not good for the art the film making. If we continue to be obsessed with giants of film making and glamorous lobbies we may not see the fresh air in the film industry. We'll just remain a stagnat film making nation.
